Croatian is the official language in Croatia. It is a South Slavic language and along with Serbian and Bosnian it belongs to the Central South Slavic diasystem. It is written with the Croatian alphabet, which is a variant of the Latin alphabet. The alphabet was modelled after the Czech alphabet and contains one letter of the Latin script for each sound in the language (30 letters in total). A foreigner may learn Croatian in one of the private language schools offering Croatian for foreigners.
