EURAXESS Service Centre Zagreb, at the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes, has organized a traditional social gathering for all foreign researchers and their families currently living and working in Croatia. The aim of the gathering was to connect and exchange contacts between foreign researchers in order to facilitate their adjustment to new surroundings and environment. Project leaders of NEWFELPRO project from the Ministry of Science and Education along with the winners of NEWFELPRO research grant in Croatia were also present on the event. NEWFELPRO project brought many foreign researchers to Croatia to conduct their research but also gave the opportunity to Croatian researchers to conduct their research abroad.
On the 25th November 2016 more than 25 foreign researchers and their families participated in the thematic tourist tour of the City of Zagreb called the ˝The Upper Town Witches˝, an interesting and interactive tour that presents little-known "magical history" of Zagreb and its inhabitants. In this fun and interesting tour participants learned more on the mysterious history of Zagreb and the phenomenon of "witches" that were to the 18th century systematically persecuted and condemned. Due to the interactive tourist tour, participants had the opportunity to actively participate in the play, which evoke the lifestyle and history of Zagreb in the 17th and 18th century.
Afterwards, participant had the pleasure to try traditional Zagreb dish, called ˝štrukli˝, in charming bistro ˝La štruk˝. Impressed with the event, participants continued to exchange their experience of living and working in Croatia, even after formal ending of dinner, together with employees of EURAXESS Service Centre Zagreb!
