On November 15th and 16th 2021, the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU will host the MSCA Conference with an aim to strengthen the impact of the MSCA programme through achieving the goals of the new ERA. Additionally, it will address unbalanced mobility flows that still represent a major challenge and contribute to the research and innovation divide within the European Union.

The Conference will focus on the issue of return migration and reintegration processes of MSCA researchers after the completion of their scholarships to their countries of origin. These issues are challenges to the multidimensional intra-European mobility flows of researchers. The Conference will foster discussions on the importance of additional measures to attract researchers back to their country of origin after their fellowships, which are aimed at: creating targeted training and career opportunities for researchers, improving working conditions and environment, supporting investments in human capital, and supporting science and technology infrastructures.

The only way to address unbalanced mobility flows adequately and sufficiently within the EU is through the direct involvement of MSCA fellows and stakeholders. Therefore, MSCA Slovenia invites MSCA former and current fellows and stakeholders, to share and send their personal stories of migration flow to their country and the relationship they have with their home country, by November 5th, 2021 to msca21-pseu.mizs@gov.si. Winning authors will be invited to present their experience at the Conference.
