The results of the MSCA competition for European Researchers' Night have been published! We are pleased to announce that the Blue-connect project, coordinated by the University of Split, is one of 48 projects at European level that will be funded!

European Researchers' Night is a Europe-wide initiative with the financial support of Marie Skłodowska-Curie and the citizens of Horizon Europe. The aim of the initiative is to popularize science, i.e. to bring science and the work of scientists closer to the public, to encourage young people to enter their research careers in the future and to acquaint the general public with European and national policies in the field of science.

We are aware that the Mediterranean is affected by climate change and environmental degradation, and that it is also dependent on marine resources and tourism, and it needs to improve the sustainable connection of the sea with people and science. Blue-connect brings together partners from the 5 main coastal cities of the Mediterranean part of Croatia, whose research is largely characterized by natural, biomedical, ecological, social and economic aspects of the sea.

The organization of the European Researchers' Night is the main activity of the Blue-connect project, which will be coordinated by the University of Split and with partners from the University of Rijeka, Step-RI, University of Pula Juraj Dobrila, University of Zadar, University of Dubrovnik, Medils, Institute for Adriatic Crops and Karst Reclamation and the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries.

The main objective of the Horizon Europe Blue-connect project is to reconnect science with society by bringing research and researchers closer to the public, boosting public recognition of science and research education, and building trust and understanding of science and its impact on the blue society in the region. Activities that promote research and science in an understandable and entertaining way will be carried last Friday of September 2022.

Get ready for a night full of interactive content, experiments, workshops, presentations and educational exhibitions!
